The learning experiment

A little play.
A lot to remember.

Asystole Play turns a few spare minutes into a small medical learning session. Take on five cases, think through your answer, then explore the explanation.

What you can do

Play a mixed round, focus on a specialty, return to questions due for review, or send a friend the same cases. The daily community board is optional. Finishing a round is a good place to stop.

Meet the crew

Ori, Lea, Ben, Linh and Dr. Yılmaz are fictional origami colleagues with different habits and reactions. Their encouragement is part of the game. It does not represent clinician review or medical advice. Choose a favorite or let each specialty introduce a colleague; quieter dialogue is available from the Crew screen.

Points, streaks and fair competition

A valid correct answer earns 10 personal XP; an incorrect attempt earns 2 XP for taking part. Every 100 XP advances your personal level. Repeated practice can earn XP. Daily and friend-challenge scores count correct answers only, with no XP or streak multiplier. Active-day streaks use days with at least one valid answer and UTC calendar days. Taking a day off does not remove earned XP or badges. Withdrawn or outdated questions are excluded from valid rewards and scores.

How the content is made

This is an early pilot with original questions generated and checked using AI. The questions have not been reviewed by clinicians. AI checks can miss errors, ambiguous answers, or changes in guidance. Each explanation includes references so you can investigate the underlying information.

The curriculum draws on common clinical learning objectives. The cases and wording are original; this product is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a replacement for USMLE, its owners, or any examination-preparation publisher.

Learn with context

The questions use a US and general clinical education context. Recommendations can differ between countries and institutions. This game is educational only and must not guide patient care. Use current local guidance and appropriate clinical supervision for real decisions.

Recall, then revisit

Answering from memory and returning after a delay can help learning. The review schedule uses answer correctness and your previous review history to decide when to offer a question again. You do not need to rate your confidence. Repeated-question accuracy measures recall of these cases; it does not establish clinical competence or predict an examination result.

Help improve a question

Use “Report this question” beneath any explanation to flag an incorrect answer, ambiguity, or a source problem. Reports are recorded for review. A report is not a clinical support request. Please keep patient information out of reports and profiles.

Something in the game is broken?

Use “Found a bug?” in the game footer. Your report is stored in the owner dashboard, and you receive a receipt. Question reports have their own review queue, so content errors and interface problems can be followed up separately.
